Plenty-Nine, And Counting…
Would you believe it?! It’s cold here in Steambath on the Bayou! In April, yet! Won’t wonders never cease! But I know that the City of St. Anthony will be warmer. It will be warmer, because Philip is there, and waiting for us. It’s been a long time. We can’t wait to get there!
If you ask Phil how old he is, he’ll say “Plenty-nine.” Suffice it to say that 29 years ago, he honored us by officiating at our wedding. Later this week, we will celebrate 30 years. He’s been a large part of all those years. No joke, folks-they wouldn’t even have happened without him.
They wouldn’t have happened, had he not reminded a young woman that God loves her, and that he loved her, too.
They wouldn’t have happened, had he not reminded a young man that he’d found an enduring love.
And of course, the girls are his spiritual grandkids. We did good on that one, too.
Thank-you, Philip Lamberty, priest of God. Thanks to you, it’s plenty-nine and counting. See you in the City of St. Anthony.
And that makes me Feel Good.
